VeTA undertakes a detailed review of the VVPAT Field Trial at Delhi by examining all activities and will prepare a report on its observations soon.

A shortfall of 5% of votes was observed in manual counting in Delhi. In Thiruvananthapuram, the differences reported are marginal.

Election Commission of India undertakes a field trial for Paper Trail (VVPAT) in five districts. Voters were very happy with the innovation as they could see and verify their votes.

The reply given by EC on 12th August, 2009 accepting the conditions of the petitioner through the letter No. 51/8/16/9/2009-EMS (Vol.-VII)
Instead of giving reply to the doubts raised on 17th august 2009 by the petitioners and the technical experts the EC challenged them to demonstrate the tamparability to mislead the petitioners.

Legal Notices from the EVM manufactures (ECIL) intimidating the petitioners for unconditional apology in the name of violations to their patent rights for raising the doubts against the EVMs.

Suggested procedures by the techincal experts to be adopted to resolve the EVM issue with EC to demonstrate the tamperability by the petitioner
Instead of supporting the technical experts while trying to show the ethical hacking,EC started putting restrictions on exposing the vulnerabilities in EVMs by asking them to demonstrate without opening the EVMs, (and allowed them just by pressing the buttons outside the EVM.)
